Key Responsibilities
Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans and goals focused on progressing patients toward discharge.
Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner, including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines.
Ensure care is provided under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approvals as required for patient care.
Delegate and direct all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring design of functional treatment programs that support return to community activities.
Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs by providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations as assigned.
Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and all applicable regulatory requirements, maintaining professional licensure in good standing and completing all state-mandated continuing education requirements.
Required Qualifications
Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist licensure in the state of Maine.
Ability to perform comprehensive patient evaluations and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
Proficiency in clinical documentation in compliance with state, federal, and payer guidelines.
Knowledge of and adherence to discipline-specific professional code of conduct and ethics.
Commitment to patient and employee safety standards and practices.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting.
Experience supervising or mentoring physical therapy students.
Demonstrated involvement in continuing education and professional development activities.
