Key Responsibilities- Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
- Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines
- Delegate and direct all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring functional treatment programs support effective return to community activities
- Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs by providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations
- Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and all applicable regulatory agency requirements; maintain professional licensure in good standing and fulfill all state-mandated continuing education requirements
- Actively participate in organizational performance improvement initiatives and contribute feedback through staff meetings, focus groups, or direct supervisor channels
Required Qualifications- Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the state of Iowa or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient evaluations and develop clinically reasoned treatment plans and goals
- Knowledge of and adherence to discipline-specific professional code of conduct and ethical standards
- Commitment to patient and employee safety practices including safe patient handling, infection control, and hazard reporting
- Ability to ensure care is provided under valid physician orders and within insurance approvals as required
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting
- Experience with student supervision and clinical education
- Demonstrated involvement in professional development activities, continuing education, or professional organizations
