Key Responsibilities
  • Consult with patients to assess their physical condition, review medical history, and evaluate referrals from providers; diagnose movement dysfunction through observation and patient interaction
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating therapeutic exercises, stretches, massage, and hands-on therapy to reduce pain and promote healing
  • Collaborate with members of the interdisciplinary care team, including speech therapists and other healthcare providers, to achieve optimal patient outcomes across outpatient (90%) and inpatient (10%) settings
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of patient conditions, care plans, therapies administered, and progress; report updates to providers, family members, and patient care committees as appropriate
  • Communicate professionally with patients, families, and care team members while maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating sensitivity to diverse developmental and sociocultural backgrounds
  • Participate in in-services, continuing education, departmental staff meetings, and peer performance reviews to support ongoing professional development
Required Qualifications
  • Master's Degree from an accredited physical therapy program
  • Current Physical Therapist state license in Washington
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Experience working directly with patients in a long-term care or hospital setting
  • Strong documentation skills and excellent verbal communication abilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience in an outpatient rehabilitation environment
  • Familiarity with interdisciplinary care team collaboration and patient care committee reporting
  • Proven ability to initiate problem-solving and conflict resolution to maintain effective workplace relationships
