Key Responsibilities
Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care needs, developing appropriate plans of care in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice standards.
Administer rehabilitation procedures including manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, ambulation, modalities, use of supportive and assistive devices, and wound care.
Assess and document patient progress, adjust treatment plans accordingly, and evaluate treatment outcomes for effectiveness in the electronic documentation system.
Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to physical disorders.
Participate in required meetings such as patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings, as well as required trainings and in-services.
Supervise and support physical therapist assistants, rehabilitation aides, and/or students as needed.
Required Qualifications
Active Massachusetts State Physical Therapist License.
Minimum of 1 year of physical therapy experience, or new graduate with completed Level II clinical experience.
Experience in long-term care or rehabilitation setting.
Adherence to APTA and Massachusetts state practice acts, code of conduct, and professional ethics.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience utilizing standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to guide clinical interventions.
Familiarity with electronic documentation systems and accurate recording of treatment minutes per regulatory requirements.
