Key Responsibilities- Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
- Conduct 60-minute evaluations and treatments in an outpatient setting, progressing patients toward discharge within an established length of stay
- Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner, including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and payer guidelines
- Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring care is provided under valid physician orders and within insurance approvals
- Serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers; participate in student programs by providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations
- Adhere to the applicable State Practice Act and regulatory requirements, maintain licensure in good standing, and actively pursue continuing education and professional development
Required Qualifications- Active California Physical Therapist license (license number must be obtained prior to start)
- Outpatient physical therapy experience required
- No new graduates — prior clinical experience is required
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient evaluations and design functional treatment programs
- Knowledge of and adherence to discipline-specific professional codes of conduct and state practice acts
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience with functional quality indicator assessments and letters of medical necessity
- Familiarity with performance improvement methodologies and organizational safety initiatives
- Experience supervising or mentoring physical therapy students
