Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wound care needs, developing appropriate plans of care in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice standards.
Administer rehabilitation procedures including manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, ambulation, modalities, use of supportive and assistive devices, and wound care.
Assess and document patient progress, adjust treatment plans accordingly, and evaluate treatment outcomes for effectiveness in the electronic documentation system.
Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to physical disorders.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and the health care team regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans, and provide comprehensive discharge summaries.
Supervise and support physical therapist assistants, rehabilitation aides, and/or students as needed, and participate in required meetings, trainings, and in-services.
Required Qualifications
Active Missouri State Physical Therapist license required.
Minimum of 1 year of physical therapy experience required.
Long-term care (LTC) or rehabilitation setting experience required.
Adherence to APTA and state-required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics.
Ability to accurately record treatment minutes and maintain patient records per regulatory and clinical requirements.
Preferred Experience / Skills
New graduates with a completed Level II clinical experience (not solely Level I observation) will be considered.
Experience utilizing standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions.
Familiarity with electronic documentation systems for clinical recordkeeping.
