Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | Days | Tuesday–Saturday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM | Expected 35 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services on a Medical/Surgical unit, conducting 8–10 new patient evaluations daily Tuesday through Friday
• Split time between the Medical/Surgical unit and Acute Rehab Unit (ARU) on Saturdays, covering 3–4 ARU patients for 60–90 minutes each
• Assist on the ARU as needed when the Med/Surg census is low during the week
• Communicate directly and effectively with physicians and ancillary staff (RNs, CNAs) regarding discharge recommendations and patient care planning
• Treat a predominantly geriatric patient population with diagnoses including general debility, cardiac, GI, respiratory, and general orthopedic conditions
• Document patient care using the Cerner/Oracle electronic health record system

Required Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist (PT) license in the state of Massachusetts
• American Heart Association BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist
• Ability to work independently following orientation with minimal supervision
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration within a small community hospital environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• At least 1 year of experience in a Medical/Surgical setting strongly preferred
• Experience treating geriatric populations with general debility, cardiac, GI, respiratory, and orthopedic conditions
• Comfort working in a small, community-based hospital environment with a collaborative, easy-going team culture
