Physical Therapist

Position Summary

The Physical Therapist provides full-time, high-quality outpatient and inpatient physical therapy care, catering to patients of all age ranges and diagnoses within the authorized scope of practice. The role involves the utilization of evidence-based medicine in formulating patient care plans while exemplifying professional conduct, patient care ethics, and respect for cultural diversity. The therapist is responsible for modifying care plans as needed, taking into account age-specific and individual considerations.

Position Qualifications

• Must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Physical Therapy.
• No minimum clinical experience required, though hospital-based experience is advantageous.
• Must hold a valid license in good standing as a Physical Therapist, or have completed all necessary paperwork to work as a Student Physical Therapist post-graduation while preparing for the licensure exam.
• Current BLS certification is required.

Work Environment

The role may involve working in various environments:

• Hospital-based: The standard Physical Therapy Department environment includes facilities and equipment such as hi-lo tables, whirlpools, therapeutic exercise equipment, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation modalities.
• Village-based: Treatment typically includes a treatment table with therapists bringing necessary equipment for patient care (e.g., theraband, exercise programs).

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret physical therapy periodicals and medical literature.
• Proficient in composing patient care documentation and medical correspondence.
• Effective communication skills with medical staff, peers, and administrative personnel.
• Able to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse cultures, including those who may not speak English fluently.
• Competent in operating personal computers, including basic MS Office programs and email applications.
• Able to utilize the internet to access relevant medical literature to enhance patient care.
• Capable of performing basic mathematical calculations and interpreting various data formats.
• Proficient in solving practical problems and adapting to various situations with limited standardization.
