Facility LocationMonterey was once the capital of what’s known as Upper California or “Alta California” and for a long time was the only port of entry or taxable goods coming into California. The city is located on the southern edge of Monterey Bay on the Pacific Coast and is famous for having a notable Aquarium; its own Fisherman’s Wharf and is home to the annual Monterey Jazz Festival.
