As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide physical therapy services to patients. Your responsibilities include assisting with patient examinations, implementing treatment plans, documenting patient progress, and educating patients and their families on exercises and activities for home use. You may also help perform assessments such as measuring range of motion and strength, carry out interventions like exercises and modalities, and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans in collaboration with the physical therapist. PTAs are expected to maintain a clean and organized treatment area and adhere to all laws and regulations governing physical therapy practice. You will also work as part of a healthcare team, communicating with other professionals as needed. Patient ratios and bed counts can vary by facility.
