In this role, you will assess patients, develop personalized therapy plans, deliver hands-on treatment, guide exercises, collaborate with other therapy professionals, monitor outcomes, and educate patients and their families. You may work in hospitals, outpatient clinics, home health, schools, sports and fitness facilities, workplaces, or nursing homes, treating patients of all ages and a wide range of conditions. Assignments typically last around 13 weeks, giving you flexibility to choose your location and setting.
Recommended qualifications include a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree, a passing score on the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE), active licensure in Maryland, and at least one year of clinical experience. Strong adaptability, communication, and decision-making skills are important. If you hold a license in a PT Compact member state, you may be eligible for multi-state practice.
