JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a 14-week travel assignment in Bowie, Maryland. The PTA will support rehabilitation services in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting, assisting patients in improving mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.

This role includes implementing therapy treatment plans, assisting with rehabilitation exercises, monitoring patient progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support optimal recovery outcomes.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in implementing physical therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist
Support patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, and mobility activities
Monitor patient progress and communicate updates to the Physical Therapist
Assist patients with transfers, ambulation, and rehabilitation exercises safely
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Educate patients on therapy exercises and recovery techniques
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Ensure compliance with rehabilitation standards and facility policies


REQUIREMENTS

Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license (Maryland or eligible state licensure)
Minimum 1 year of PTA experience preferred
Experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation settings preferred
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment
Commitment to delivering patient-centered rehabilitative care
