Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant Profession: PTA Specialty: Therapy CATR Duration: 12 months Shift: Day Hours per Shift: Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 5:30 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience License: IL PTA License Certifications: BLS-AHA Must-Have Skills: THERAPEUTIC EXERCISE GAIT AND BALANCE TRAINING ULTRASOUND ELECTRICAL STIMULATION TREATMENT AQUATIC THERAPY Description: Implements the plan of care as provided by the physical therapist. Treats patients of all ages. Serves as a role model in the delivery of professional services. Acts as a clinical resource for staff and students. Educates patients, family, caregivers, students, and other health care providers using relevant and effective teaching methods. Follows the therapist's plan of care. Adjusts treatment based on patient response and available evidence after communicating with the evaluating therapist. Documents all communication in the daily note. Produces documentation in accordance with the Clinical Documentation Policy. Completes annual education as assigned to comply with relevant program requirements, if applicable. Follows the treatment plan established by the physical therapist. Provides treatment interventions including therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, and ultrasound. Administers electrical stimulation treatment. Provides therapeutic exercise in the water, including aquatic therapy. Completes daily documentation and charging in therapy EMR. Coordinates with the physical therapist on patient treatment interventions. Communicates with referring providers on patient progress and treatment recommendations.
