Job Overview
We are seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a 14-week travel contract assignment in Arlington, Massachusetts. The PTA will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to deliver therapeutic interventions that support patient rehabilitation and functional recovery.
This role requires hands-on therapy skills, strong communication, and the ability to support patients through structured rehabilitation programs.
Key Responsibilities
Implement treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist
Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and mobility training
Document patient progress and report updates to supervising PT
Support patients with functional mobility and strength-building activities
Educate patients on exercise programs and therapy routines
Ensure proper use of rehabilitation equipment
Collaborate with therapy and healthcare teams
Maintain accurate clinical documentation
Promote patient safety, comfort, and recovery outcomes
Requirements
Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license required
Associate degree from an accredited PTA program required
Minimum 1 year of clinical PTA experience preferred
Current BLS certification required
Experience in skilled nursing or rehab setting preferred
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work rotating weekly schedule
Must comply with facility health and safety requirements
Valid government-issued photo identification required
