JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a 14-week travel assignment in Lanham, Maryland. The PTA will assist in delivering rehabilitation services within a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting, supporting patients in improving mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
This role involves implementing therapy treatment plans, assisting with rehabilitation exercises, monitoring patient progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support positive patient outcomes. Urgent need opportunity available.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in implementing physical therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist
Support patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, and mobility activities
Monitor patient progress and communicate updates to the Physical Therapist
Assist patients with transfers, ambulation, and rehabilitation exercises safely
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Educate patients on therapy exercises and recovery techniques
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Ensure compliance with rehabilitation standards and facility policies
REQUIREMENTS
Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license (Maryland or eligible state licensure)
Minimum 1 year of PTA experience preferred
Experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation settings preferred
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment
