General Description MUST HAVE INPATIENT EXPERIENCE The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will work as part of a team to provide physical therapy service under the direction and supervision of the physical
therapist. The PTA will implement selected components of patient/client interventions (treatment), obtain data related to the interventions provided, and make modifications in selected interventions either to progress the patient/client as directed by the physical therapist or to ensure patient/client safety and comfort.
Responsibility: PTA’s assist the physical therapist in the treatment of individuals of all ages, from newborns to the elderly, who have medical problems or other health-related conditions that limit their abilities to move
and perform functional activities in their daily lives. Patient care is provided as in-patient, outpatient and home health settings.
Accountability: The Physical Therapist Assistant reports directly to the Rehabilitation Manager.
Special Demands: Mental: Astute communication skills with employees, physicians, visitors, administration and public. Ability to adjust to job situations that involve many different people and projects, requiring some independent action and judgment.
Physical: Must have the ability and competency to operate the equipment of his/her position; perform technical procedures; speak intelligently and in a professional manner before others; and exercise supervision and management skills.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience primarily outpatient experience preferred. Bi-lingual capabilities helpful.
