Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant Profession: Physical Therapist Assistant Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday to Friday Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in a clinical setting with a frail or elderly population License: Valid Physical Therapy Assistant License Certifications: - Must-Have: - Physical therapy assistant knowledge - Experience treating frail, elderly participants - Clinical skills - Organizational skills - Communication skills Description: The Physical Therapist Assistant, under the direction of a physical therapist, is responsible for assisting with performing tests and providing restorative and rehabilitative physical therapy services to participants. The goal is to maximize participant independence and safety and to develop or restore function. The Physical Therapist Assistant will work with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement the plan of care established by the physical therapist. Job Responsibilities: Administer participants' treatment programs as established by the physical therapist. Assist the physical therapist in obtaining vital signs, range of motion, and strength testing. Coordinate with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement activities and programs based on the participants' individual treatment plans. Handle scheduling of participants' treatment and clinical visits. Deliver and document physical therapy interventions in accordance with the physical therapist's established care plans, including the use of devices, techniques, activities to promote muscle re-education, and other factors affecting the level of independence in performing activities of daily living. Provide training and instructions to staff, participants, and families in the use and care of therapeutic equipment. Track and manage maintenance for equipment. Remain alert to input from other team members, participants, and families, and update the physical therapist promptly of any changes in participants' conditions or functional status. Participate in end-of-life care coordination and support under the supervision of the physical therapist. Complete all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Protect privacy and maintain confidentiality of all procedures and information about team members and participants. Follow policies and procedures and participate in any required quality improvement activities, staff training, and meetings. Communicate regularly with the supervisor and team regarding workload and priorities. Exercise flexibility in performing assignments as business needs evolve. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Experience: Highly motivated and self-directed. Ability to execute tasks in a quickly changing environment. Excellent clinical, organizational, and communication skills in settings with seniors and interdisciplinary team members. Demonstrated ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Required Education: Associates Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program. The qualifying Physical Therapy Assistant degree earned outside of the US must be evaluated to the US equivalent.
