Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant Profession: Physical Therapist Assistant Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: M-F Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Experience: Minimum of two (2) years in a clinical setting with a frail or elderly population License: Valid California Physical Therapy Assistant License Certifications: - Must-Have: - Physical therapy assistant knowledge and skills necessary to treat frail, elderly participants with complex needs - Excellent clinical, organizational, and communication skills - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision - Demonstrated ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment Description: The Physical Therapist Assistant, under the direction of a physical therapist, is responsible for assisting with performing tests and providing restorative and rehabilitative Physical Therapy services to participants. This role aims to maximize participant independence and safety and develop or restore function. The Physical Therapist Assistant will work with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement the plan of care established by the physical therapist. Responsibilities include administering treatment programs as established by the Physical Therapist. Assist the Physical Therapist in obtaining vital signs, range of motion, and strength testing. Coordinate with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement activities and programs based on the participant's individual treatment plans. Handle scheduling of treatment and clinical visits. Deliver and document Physical Therapy interventions in accordance with the established care plans, including the use of devices, techniques, and activities to promote muscle re-education, cognitive function, balance, and endurance. Provide training and instructions to staff, participants, and caregivers in the use and care of therapeutic equipment. Track and manage maintenance for equipment. Remain alert to input from team members, participants, and caregivers and promptly update the Physical Therapist of any changes in participants' conditions or functional status. Participate under the supervision of the Physical Therapist in end-of-life care coordination and support. Complete all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Protect privacy and maintain confidentiality of all procedures and information. Follow company policies and procedures and participate in required quality improvement activities, staff training, and meetings. Communicate regularly with the supervisor and team regarding workload and priorities. Exercise flexibility in performing assignments as business needs evolve. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
