Key Responsibilities
- Administer physical therapy interventions as planned, delegated, and supervised by a licensed Physical Therapist
- Ensure all treatment is delivered in accordance with an established plan of care
- Provide clinical support and instruct patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic activities
- Monitor and document patient response to treatment interventions
- Complete required forms and documentation in compliance with company policy and state/federal regulations
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Certification from the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs, administered by the FSBPT
- Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical stamina to assist patients with movement and therapeutic exercises
- Empathy and patience when working with patients in a skilled or long-term care setting
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 1 year of experience in a skilled nursing facility setting
- Prior experience following and implementing physical therapist-directed plans of care
