Schedule / Job TypeContract | 13 Weeks | Outpatient | Day Shift | Monday–Friday (variable daily hours)
Key Responsibilities- Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs as established by the supervising Physical Therapist, including posture training, strengthening exercises, balance and coordination exercises, joint mobility, pain relief, and functional skills training.
- Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, and assistive devices such as canes, crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs; demonstrate proper guarding techniques and safety awareness.
- Administer therapeutic modalities including ultrasound, hot/cold packs, iontophoresis, fluidotherapy, paraffin bath, TENS, and whirlpool treatments.
- Monitor patient responses to treatment and intervene as necessary; document patient progress, response to treatment, and patient and family education in accordance with clinic standards.
- Maintain a safe, clean treatment environment; adhere to infection control protocols and all safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with and serve as a resource to other healthcare team members; participate in team conferences and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications- Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license or eligibility to practice in Florida.
- Ability to implement and carry out physical therapy treatment plans under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Knowledge of therapeutic modalities, safe patient handling techniques, and proper use of assistive devices.
- Commitment to patient and employee safety, infection control standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong documentation skills and ability to maintain accurate patient records.
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience or coursework in orthopedic physical therapy.
