Key Responsibilities
Provide physical therapy treatments to patients in accordance with the plan of care established by a registered Physical Therapist, using physical means such as exercise, massage, heat, water, light, and electricity to relieve pain and restore function.
Direct and assist patients in active and passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait and functional training, activities of daily living, transfer activities, and prosthetic training.
Operate therapeutic equipment including ultra-violet and infrared lamps, low voltage generators, diathermy, and ultrasonic machines.
Observe, record, and report patient reactions to treatment and changes in condition to the supervising registered Physical Therapist.
Educate patients and caregivers on self-care techniques and appropriate home activities.
Complete and submit accurate clinical notes and required documentation in a timely manner in accordance with agency standards.
Required Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant studies.
Active PTA licensure in both New Hampshire and Vermont.
Valid Driver's License and agency-level auto insurance.
Ability to work under the supervision of a registered Physical Therapist in compliance with state practice guidelines.
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience in a home health or rehabilitation setting.
Familiarity with electronic clinical documentation systems.
