    Key Responsibilities
    • Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs as established by the supervising Physical Therapist, including posture training, strengthening exercise, balance, coordination, joint mobility, pain relief, and functional skills training.
    • Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, and assistive devices such as canes, crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs; demonstrate proper guarding and gait belt techniques.
    • Administer therapeutic modalities including ultrasound, hot/cold packs, whirlpool, paraffin bath, iontophoresis, fluidotherapy, and TENS as directed.
    • Monitor patient responses to treatment and intervene as necessary; document patient progress, response to treatment, and patient and family education.
    • Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control, safe patient handling, and workplace safety policies; report equipment malfunctions or hazards promptly.
    • Collaborate with other healthcare disciplines, participate in team conferences, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
    Required Qualifications
    • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Indiana.
    • Minimum of recent outpatient physical therapy experience within the last 2 years.
    • Not a new graduate; prior clinical experience required.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of therapeutic exercise, modality application, and safe patient handling techniques.
    • Ability to maintain professional, ethical working relationships with patients, families, and staff.
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with a broad range of outpatient therapeutic interventions including community re-entry training and assistive device instruction.
    • Familiarity with documentation standards and electronic medical records in an outpatient rehabilitation setting.
