    Physical Therapist Assistant

    Key Responsibilities
    • Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs as established by the supervising Physical Therapist, including posture training, strengthening exercises, balance, coordination, endurance training, joint mobility, pain relief, and functional skills training
    • Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, and assistive devices such as canes, crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs; demonstrate proper guarding techniques and safety awareness
    • Apply and demonstrate therapeutic modalities including ultrasound, iontophoresis, hot/cold packs, whirlpools, paraffin bath, fluidotherapy, and TENS units
    • Monitor patient responses to treatment and intervene as necessary; document patient progress, response to treatment, and patient/family education
    • Maintain a safe, clean treatment environment; adhere to infection control protocols, safe patient handling practices, and all facility safety policies
    • Collaborate with and serve as a resource to other healthcare disciplines; participate in team conferences and quality improvement initiatives
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license valid in the state of Florida
    • Demonstrated knowledge of therapeutic interventions and modalities used in an outpatient physical therapy setting
    • Ability to adhere to all facility guidelines regarding professional appearance, attendance, and punctuality
    • Commitment to patient and employee safety standards, including safe patient handling and infection control protocols
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting
    • Experience with community re-entry training and functional skills training
    • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to build professional relationships with patients, families, and staff
