    Contract | Days | Outpatient | 13-Week Assignment

    Key Responsibilities
    • Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs as established by the supervising Physical Therapist, including posture training, strengthening exercises, balance and coordination exercises, joint mobility, and functional skills training.
    • Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, and assistive devices such as canes, crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs; demonstrate proper guarding techniques and safety awareness.
    • Administer therapeutic modalities including ultrasound, hot/cold packs, iontophoresis, whirlpools, paraffin bath, fluidotherapy, and TENS; monitor patient response and intervene as necessary.
    • Document patient progress, response to treatment, and patient and family education in accordance with clinic policies and procedures.
    • Educate patients and families on proper body mechanics and prescribed equipment use.
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, participate in team conferences, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license valid in the state of Texas.
    • Experience working in an outpatient physical therapy setting.
    • Proficiency in the application of therapeutic modalities and safe patient handling techniques.
    • Ability to adhere to infection control, safety, and compliance policies and procedures.
    • Strong documentation skills and ability to maintain accurate patient records.
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with community re-entry training and endurance or cardiac rehabilitation programs.
    • Familiarity with assistive and adaptive equipment ordering and instruction.
    • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and customer service excellence.
