    Physical Therapist Assistant

    Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | Outpatient | Monday–Friday (varying hours)

    Key Responsibilities
    • Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs as established by the supervising Physical Therapist, including posture training, strengthening exercise, balance, coordination, endurance, joint mobility, pain relief, and functional skills training.
    • Assist patients with locomotion training using orthotics, prosthetics, and assistive devices such as canes, crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs; demonstrate proper guarding and gait belt techniques.
    • Administer and demonstrate therapeutic modalities including ultrasound, hot/cold packs, whirlpool, paraffin bath, iontophoresis, fluidotherapy, and TENS units.
    • Monitor patient responses to treatment and intervene as necessary, documenting patient progress, response to treatment, and patient and family education in a timely manner.
    • Educate patients and families on proper body mechanics and safe use of prescribed equipment.
    • Maintain a safe, clean treatment environment; adhere to all infection control, safety, and facility policies and procedures.
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license or eligibility to practice in the state of Florida.
    • Ability to implement and carry out treatment plans under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
    • Knowledge of therapeutic modalities and safe patient handling techniques.
    • Commitment to patient and employee safety standards in an outpatient clinical setting.
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting; new graduates are welcome to apply.
    • Familiarity with community re-entry training and assistive/adaptive equipment instruction.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
