    Job Title

    Physical Therapist Assistant

    Location

    Illinois | Outpatient

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Days | Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week with 2 evening shifts | 12–13 Week Assignment

    Key Responsibilities
    • Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs as established by the supervising Physical Therapist, including posture training, strengthening, endurance, balance, coordination, joint mobility, pain relief, and functional skills training
    • Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, and assistive devices such as canes, crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs; demonstrate proper guarding and gait belt techniques
    • Administer therapeutic modalities including ultrasound, iontophoresis, hot/cold packs, whirlpool, paraffin bath, fluidotherapy, and TENS as directed
    • Monitor and document patient progress, response to treatment, and patient/family education in accordance with clinic policies
    • Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safe patient handling practices, and equipment safety standards
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, participate in team conferences, and serve as a resource regarding therapy goals and interventions
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of Illinois
    • Demonstrated ability to implement PT-directed treatment plans across a range of therapeutic interventions
    • Proficiency in safe patient handling, proper guarding techniques, and use of assistive/adaptive devices
    • Ability to accurately document patient progress and maintain compliance with all clinic policies and regulatory requirements
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior experience in an outpatient physical therapy setting
    • Familiarity with a broad range of therapeutic modalities including aquatic therapy and iontophoresis
    • Strong patient and family education skills, including instruction in home exercise programs and body mechanics
