Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
Conduct 60-minute evaluations and treatments, utilizing clinical reasoning to progress patients toward discharge within an established length of stay
Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines
Ensure all care is provided under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approvals as required
Participate in student programs as assigned, providing appropriate supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations
Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and all applicable regulatory agency requirements, maintaining professional licensure in good standing
Required Qualifications
Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) licensure in good standing in the state of California
Prior outpatient physical therapy experience required — new graduates will not be considered
Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive patient evaluations and develop appropriate treatment plans and goals
Proficiency in medical record documentation in compliance with state and federal guidelines
Commitment to patient and employee safety standards and safe patient handling practices
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience participating in student clinical education programs
Active involvement in continuing education, professional organizations, or self-directed professional development activities
Familiarity with performance improvement methodologies and quality improvement initiatives
