    Physical Therapist Assistant

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | 40 Hours per Week | Monday–Wednesday 8:00 AM–6:00 PM, Tuesday–Thursday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Friday 8:00 AM–2:00 PM | Onsite | Outpatient

    Key Responsibilities
    • Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs as established by the supervising Physical Therapist, including posture training, strengthening exercises, balance and coordination exercises, joint mobility, pain relief, and functional skills training.
    • Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, and assistive devices such as canes, crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs; demonstrate proper guarding techniques and safety awareness.
    • Administer therapeutic modalities including ultrasound, hot/cold packs, whirlpools, paraffin bath, iontophoresis, fluidotherapy, and TENS units.
    • Monitor patient responses to treatment and intervene as necessary; document patient progress, response to treatment, and patient and family education.
    • Maintain a safe, clean treatment environment; follow all infection control, safety, and equipment usage guidelines.
    • Participate in team conferences and collaborate with other healthcare disciplines regarding therapy administered and projected treatment goals.
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license or eligibility to practice in the state of Georgia.
    • Ability to implement and carry out treatment plans under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
    • Proficiency in the safe use of standard physical therapy modalities and assistive devices.
    • Strong documentation skills for tracking patient progress and treatment response.
    • Commitment to patient and employee safety practices, including safe patient handling and infection control protocols.
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting strongly preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to educate patients and families on home exercise programs and proper body mechanics.
    • Experience identifying and recommending equipment needs and reporting maintenance issues appropriately.
