Job Summary: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position located at Springfield. This role involves providing specialized patient care within the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, focusing on critically ill children. The position requires flexibility and a team-oriented approach to meet the demands of a fast-paced, pediatric healthcare environment.
Job Details:
Schedule: Nights, 1830-0700, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Current RN license (eligible for licensure in Missouri or licensed in Missouri), BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association, at least 2 years of PICU experience, vent-competent, minimum of 1 year post-orientation experience
Preferred Qualifications: Additional pediatric or critical care certifications and experience in trauma, burn, neurosurgery, or pediatric surgery units
Float: Float rotation may be required, with nurses expected to work in NICU, PICU, pediatric medical floors, or pediatric emergency departments based on patient volumes
Additional Information: Night shift orientation occurs during day shifts, and candidates must be available for the entire week. Responsibilities include utilizing the nursing process for patient assessment and care, maintaining patient rights and confidentiality, and collaborating with other departments to optimize patient outcomes. The role requires physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs., with work conducted mostly in a clean, air-conditioned environment.
