Job Summary Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) RN position in a children's hospital setting. This role involves floating between Pediatric Medical/Surgical and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit units, providing specialized care for pediatric patients. The position offers a flexible schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week, with an emphasis on maintaining patient safety and comfort.
Job Details
Position Description: 1-year experience in pediatric intensive care required; will float between units including Pediatric Medical/Surgical and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Required Qualifications: Valid license in the state of practice, BLS certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, minimum of 1 year of pediatric ICU experience, and the ability to work a schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week.
Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
Additional Information: Assist/manage intubation, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, central line/implanted line care, continuous sedation, external ventricular drain (EVD), hemodynamic monitoring, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), ICP monitoring, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, IV vasopressors, management of chest tubes, management of dysrhythmias, pediatric step-down, PICC line management, post cardiac surgery, suctioning (ETT, NT), telemetry monitoring, ventilator management.
Submission Requirements: Candidates must be able to demonstrate at least 1 year of pediatric ICU experience, hold appropriate certifications, and provide two references covering 1 year within the last three years.
