Job Summary:
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse in Madison, Wisconsin. This highly specialized role involves providing critical care to critically ill or injured children in a state-of-the-art hospital environment. The position offers an opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team caring for patients with complex medical and surgical needs, including neurological, respiratory, cardiac, and transplant cases.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating shift, 12 hours, a minimum of 36 hours per week, start date 08/17/2026.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact RN license, at least 2 years of recent acute care experience, pediatric or critical care experience preferred. Certifications include BLS and PALS. EPIC experience required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Strong Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience, Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) experience, experience with high acuity hospital settings.
  • Responsibilities: Provide family-centered critical care, manage ventilated patients, monitor hemodynamics, administer blood products and medications, perform invasive procedures including line management and sedation, and utilize advanced equipment such as ECMO and CRRT.
  • Additional Information: Traveler must pass a telemetry test prior to start, with two attempts allowed. No local candidates; must be at least 50 miles from the facility. Inpatient RN experience required. Strict adherence to clinical and safety protocols, including infection control and PPE.
