Job Summary:
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in a hospital located in Rochester, Minnesota. This role involves coordinating nursing care for critically ill pediatric patients, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care. The PICU team manages a diverse patient population, including medical, surgical, trauma, orthopedic, cardiac, neurological, and pulmonary cases, with specialized units for pediatric liver, kidney, and bone marrow transplants. The RN will support the units commitment to high-quality, compassionate care within the framework of the organization's nursing practice model.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week. Shift times include 07:00 AM 07:30 PM and 07:00 PM 07:30 AM. Every third weekend is required. Floating to other units may be necessary.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license in the applicable state; minimum of 2 years recent acute nursing experience; 6 months of travel experience (1 year preferred); pediatric ICU nursing experience; Level 1 trauma and intubated patient care experience; solid organ transplant experience strongly preferred; certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), PALS, with BLS and PALS current and not expiring within three months of start date; ECG interpretation skills, including cardiac monitoring/telemetry; ability to read strips; proficiency in caring for critically ill pediatric patients, including ventilated and trauma cases; required certifications such as CCRN and TCTCN strongly preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: CCRN certification; TCTCN certification; experience with solid organ transplant.
  • Additional Information: The assignment begins on 08/24/2026, and candidates must have at least 12 months of travel nursing experience. The role requires floating to other units as needed and the ability to perform ECG exams during orientation.
