Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Pediatric CICU/CVICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring extensive congenital heart disease and invasive line management experience.

Details

• Acuity adaptive 27-bed unit caring for both ICU and step-down level pediatric cardiac patients
• Patient ratios of 1:2, 1:1, and at times 1:3
• Equipment includes Medfusion and Baxter IV pumps, Hillrom beds, hard cribs and cribettes, GE radiant warmers, Somanetics NIRS machines, and Servo U ventilators
• Meditech EMR used
• Shift runs 7A-7P with Tuesday start dates
• Rotating weekends required (day shift Sat/Sun, night shift Fri/Sat)
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to PICU, NICU, pediatric med surg, and pediatric oncology

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: PALS, BLS, ACLS
• Minimum 1 year of Pediatric CICU/CVICU experience as a staff nurse required
• 3-4 contracts in a dedicated pediatric CICU required
• Minimum 2 years PICU experience as a staff nurse required
• Experience caring for congenital heart disease patients and post-operative CHD management required
• Experience managing arterial lines, central lines, and transthoracic lines required
• 2+ years of Pediatric CICU/CVICU experience preferred
• 1+ year experience with neonatal cardiac patients (pre-op and post-op) preferred
• 2+ years of pediatric cardiac step-down or cardiology floor experience preferred
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Unit performs central line and arterial line placement, conscious sedation, intubation/extubation, post-op recovery of general and cardiac procedures, sternal closures, codes, ECMO cannulation/decannulation, CRRT, and manual PD
• Best fit candidates are compassionate, hardworking team players who are meticulous, adaptable, and flexible
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility - no local candidates accepted
