Position Details Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Schedule: 3 shifts per week / 12-hour shifts Openings: 1 Day Shift 1 Night Shift Shift: Days or Nights Contract Length: 8 Weeks Weekly Hours: 36 hours Location: Los Angeles, CA Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients. Perform ongoing assessments and closely monitor patients for changes in condition. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans. Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other treatments safely and accurately. Manage and monitor patients requiring advanced respiratory and hemodynamic support. Recognize changes in patient status and respond quickly to clinical emergencies. Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, child life specialists, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team. Provide family-centered care and communicate effectively with parents and caregivers. Educate families regarding treatment plans, medications, procedures, and ongoing care. Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records. Assist with procedures and interventions within scope of practice. Follow infection prevention, medication safety, and patient safety protocols. Participate in emergency response and resuscitation efforts as needed. Maintain a safe, compassionate, and supportive environment for pediatric patients and their families. Requirements Active RN license in the state of practice. Current BLS certification. PICU experience required. Pediatric experience required. Strong critical-care assessment and clinical decision-making skills. Experience caring for high-acuity pediatric patients.
