Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric ICU RN with a VA or compact RN license and at least 3 years of PICU experience for a night/day rotating shift assignment.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) of a teaching hospital environment
• Care for pediatric critical care patients with a 1:2 patient ratio
• Rotating 3x12 shifts, alternating between night (19:00-7:00) and day (7:00-19:00) schedules for several weeks at a time, with no shift changes within the same week
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Required to work a minimum of 2 holidays
• Candidates may float within scope of practice if needed
• Locals accepted at the same base rate with no radius restrictions

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and PALS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of PICU experience required (not including orientation)
• EPIC charting experience required
• BSN preferred
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skilled in respiratory care, ventilator management, medication administration including emergency medications, continuous sedation, and IV vasopressors
• Experience with CVVH, chemo administration, and ECMO preferred
• Familiarity with ICP monitoring, telemetry, and ventilators preferred
• 2 professional references (supervisor level or above) and hospital evaluations required
• NURSYS or applicable license verification required
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE) required, diploma, Associate's, or BSN accepted

• Provide direct critical care nursing to pediatric patients in the PICU
• Facility maintains a natural nail policy for clinical staff
• Facility is a smoke-free campus
• Time-off requests must be submitted at time of consideration and are subject to manager approval; no time off granted during the first week of assignment
• Travelers and permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers may be considered with appropriate skill and experience
• Candidates should not exceed 40 hours per week unless approved by unit management
