Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric ICU night shift position requiring an active Ohio or compact RN license and 18 months of recent pediatric experience.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of a hospital setting
• Care for specialized patients up to 25 years of age, including epilepsy monitoring cases
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Required to work at least every other holiday

Requirements

• Active permanent Ohio RN license or compact RN license required in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA or American Red Cross)
• NIHSS certification preferred
• 18 months of permanent experience in PICU specialty required prior to travel assignments
• 18 months of recent pediatric experience required (travel experience acceptable)
• Experience with epilepsy monitoring, EKGs, and inotropes required
• One professional reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the applicable specialty required, from an assignment worked within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide specialized pediatric critical care nursing across a wide age range up to 25 years
• ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment must be completed during orientation with a passing score, with up to 2 attempts allowed
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Nurses are currently exempt from the facility's nicotine-free policy
• Permanent and per diem candidates cannot return to this health system for 1 year from their previous end date
• Assignments may extend up to 18 consecutive months, with a required 6-month break before returning unless otherwise approved
