Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Pediatric ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring OH or compact RN license and recent Level 1 PICU experience.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) at a children's hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• 13-week assignment length
• Required to float to NICU, CV PICU, ED, stepdown, and MS units as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active OH State or Compact RN license required in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, PALS required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of current PICU experience required, with recent Level 1 PICU experience
• First-time travelers considered with closer to 3 years of PICU experience
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Proficiency in respiratory care including ventilator management, ETT/NT suctioning, BiPAP/CPAP, and tracheostomy care
• Skilled in IV therapy including arterial line management, central line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with pediatric dosage calculations, continuous sedation, and IV vasopressors
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• 2 professional references required at time of consideration, at least one must be a manager or supervisor (charge references not accepted)

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric ICU patients, including ventilator management and complex medication administration
• Floating to other units is a standard expectation and a key point of emphasis at this facility
• No call/no-show occurrences are taken seriously and may impact continued assignment
• Candidates must not have worked in a permanent position at this facility within the last 2 years
• Local candidates are not accepted; a 60-mile radius rule applies
• All RTO must be submitted at time of consideration
