Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring a CA RN license and 4 years of relevant experience.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) at a hospital medical center
• Primary unit is PICU, with floating required to Pediatrics and NICU
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Typical patient ratio of 1:2
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS and PALS required; NRP, ACLS, APHON, CPHON, NIHSS, and OCN preferred
• Minimum 4 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, central line care, ventilator management, and pediatric dosage calculations
• Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients in the ICU setting
• May assist with procedures such as lumbar punctures, chest tube management, and post-neurosurgical care
• Care for patients requiring respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, and airway maintenance
• Support cardiovascular care including hemodynamic monitoring and management of dysrhythmias
• Local candidates accepted at local rate under a 50-mile radius rule
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
