Travel RN Job Details

• Contract Duration: 13 weeks, ending January 4, 2027
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, approximately 6:45 a.m.–7:15 p.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Weekends required; no call shifts
• Unit Environment: 34 private couplet-care rooms with typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3–4 couplets
• Documentation: Cerner electronic medical record
• Scrub Attire: Navy blue and white

Mother/Baby RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in North Carolina
• At least 1 year of professional RN experience, including recent Mother/Baby or postpartum nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate nursing care to postpartum patients and newborns
• Strong communication, teamwork, clinical assessment, and patient education skills
• Willingness to assist with assignments in Labor & Delivery and the NICU when needed

Postpartum Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive Registered Nurse care for postpartum patients and their newborns in a couplet-care setting
• Complete maternal and newborn assessments, monitor clinical status, and promptly report changes
• Support patients recovering after delivery, including those receiving magnesium sulfate therapy
• Provide newborn care, patient education, breastfeeding support, and discharge preparation
• Care for patients requiring bilirubin blankets or lights and safely operate unit equipment such as Alaris pumps
• Assist with circumcision care and provide related patient and family education
• Collaborate with providers, lactation support, ancillary staff, and families to promote positive patient outcomes
• Float or provide helping-hand support to Labor & Delivery and NICU teams as requested
• Contribute to a respectful, team-oriented environment and help educate patients, families, and colleagues
