Travel RN Job Details

• Nursing Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 11, 2026
• End Date: January 10, 2027
• Work Environment: On-site Mother/Baby unit with 34 private couplet rooms
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:3–4 couplets
• Weekend Requirement: Weekends required; no on-call shifts

Mother/Baby Travel RN Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in North Carolina
• At least 1 year of Mother/Baby or postpartum nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Experience caring for patients receiving Magnesium Sulfate after delivery preferred
• STABLE certification preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient education skills

Postpartum Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to postpartum patients and newborns in a Mother/Baby setting
• Monitor maternal and newborn conditions, identify changes in status, and promptly escalate concerns
• Care for patients receiving Magnesium Sulfate therapy following delivery
• Support couplet care while maintaining safe, individualized patient assignments
• Provide education related to postpartum recovery, newborn care, feeding, and discharge preparation
• Assist with unit procedures, including circumcision care and related patient education
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to promote safe transitions and positive outcomes for families
• Float as a helping hand to Labor & Delivery and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit when needed
• Document patient care accurately using the electronic medical record
