Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact license must be in hand at submission if applicable
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Mother/Baby, Postpartum, or a closely related women’s health setting
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• No first-time travelers
• BLS and NRP required
• Experience with Epic preferred or required
• Ability to support postpartum, newborn, and couplet care patients
• Must be comfortable working weekends and floating as needed
• Strong references and compliance documentation required prior to start

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality postpartum nursing care for patients recovering from vaginal and cesarean deliveries
• Support mother and baby couplet care, including routine assessments, monitoring, and bedside support
• Assist with newborn care, including thermoregulation, glucose monitoring, and feeding support
• Educate and reassure families on discharge planning, breastfeeding, newborn care, and recovery expectations
• Monitor and manage common postpartum concerns, including bleeding, pain, incision care, and postpartum readmission needs
• Administer and manage medications and therapies as appropriate, including blood products, insulin, magnesium sulfate, and heparin per protocol
• Provide care for patients with epidural pumps, PCA pumps, drains, wound vacs, and related post-op needs
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote safe, efficient, patient-centered care
• Adapt quickly to float assignments in NICU, L&D, or other nearby units as needed
