• Weekend Coverage: 6 weekend days per contract
• Float Expectation: May be asked to support nearby postpartum or recovery units as needed

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Compact license required at submission
• Minimum of 2 years of Mother/Baby or postpartum nursing experience
• High-acuity postpartum experience required
• Ability to manage a standard census of up to 4 couplets
• Current BLS and NRP certifications
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with high-risk obstetric care preferred
• Strong clinical background with magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin, Foley management, postpartum hemorrhage, and substance withdrawal care

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to postpartum and couplet care patients
• Monitor mothers and newborns following delivery and support recovery needs
• Assess fundus, lochia, perineum, and incision sites with accuracy and timeliness
• Administer and monitor ordered therapies, including magnesium and Pitocin
• Recognize and respond quickly to postpartum hemorrhage and other high-risk concerns
• Document thoroughly in Epic and collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary care team
• Adapt to census surges while maintaining safe, high-quality care
• Support patients and families with education, reassurance, and discharge readiness
