You will work night shifts in a Birthing Center that includes an 11-bed Labor and Delivery unit and an 8-bed Postpartum unit.

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,430-$2,550

• Healthcare Setting: Birthing Center with Labor and Delivery and Postpartum services

• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
• Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Every third weekend and every other holiday
• Call Requirements: Mandatory call availability of up to 20 hours within a six-week block; low-census call may apply
• Patient Volume: Approximately 1,350 deliveries annually, with an average of 112 deliveries per month
• Electronic Medical Record: Epic experience preferred

Postpartum Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent postpartum nursing experience
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required
• Labor and Delivery competency
• Ability to participate in required weekend, holiday, and call rotations
• Willingness to follow applicable seasonal health and safety policies, including masking requirements when applicable

Postpartum Travel RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to postpartum patients and newborns throughout the recovery and transition period
• Monitor maternal and newborn conditions, recognize changes in status, and escalate concerns promptly
• Perform postpartum assessments and provide pain management, medication administration, patient education, and discharge preparation
• Reinforce breastfeeding, newborn care, patient safety, and postpartum recovery education for patients and families
• Collaborate with Labor and Delivery staff and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote safe, coordinated maternal-newborn care
• Apply Labor and Delivery nursing knowledge when assisting with the needs of the Birthing Center
• Document patient care accurately in Epic or the unit’s electronic medical record system
• Participate in scheduled night shifts, weekend and holiday rotations, and required call coverage
