Position Overview- Caretenders of Wilmington is seeking a dedicated Travel Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to support patient care in a home health setting. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients improve mobility, restore function, and enhance overall quality of life.

Top Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans for patients in home health settings
• Perform therapeutic exercises and activities designed to improve strength, mobility, balance, and coordination
• Monitor and document patient progress and communicate updates to supervising Physical Therapist
• Educate patients and caregivers on prescribed exercises, safety techniques, and use of equipment
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, documentation standards, and agency policies
• Travel between patient homes across assigned coverage areas while maintaining schedule efficiency
• Support patient outcomes by delivering compassionate, patient-centered care

Must-Have Qualifications / Experience

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
• Active and unrestricted PTA license in the state of practice
• Minimum of 1+ year of PTA experience (home health experience strongly preferred)
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and active auto insurance
• Ability to travel across multiple counties for patient visits
• Strong clinical skills and understanding of rehabilitation techniques
• Basic proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation systems
