Schedule

The position requires a flexible schedule with on-call requirements of roughly 3-4 weeknight calls and one 24-hour weekend call in an 8-week period. Weeknight call hours are from 9 PM to 7 AM, and weekend call hours are from 7 AM to 7 AM the following day.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Preop / PACU Registered Nurse to join our team at a community hospital. The facility features 7 operating rooms and offers specialties including Neuro, Plastics, ENT, Breast, General, GYN, Urology, Ortho, Vascular, and Endoscopy. The RN will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients undergoing surgical procedures and will be involved in both preoperative and postoperative recovery phases.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients' conditions in preoperative and postoperative settings.
• Administer medications and provide education to patients and their families.
• Coordinate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and patient safety standards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license valid in the state of practice.
• Required health screenings and vaccinations, including MMR, Hepatitis B, TB, and Tdap.
• Completion of a fit test for respiratory protection.
• CPR/BLS certification and any other relevant certifications.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
