Job Details

• Location: Ithaca, NY 14850
• Setting: Pre-Op / PACU / Post Anesthesia Care Unit
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250 - $2,370
• Schedule: Day shift coverage with variable start times ranging from 6:00 AM to 9:30 AM
• On-Call: Approximately 3-4 weeknight calls and 1 weekend call every 8 weeks, with holiday call required
• Unit Highlights: 7 ORs supporting a broad surgical mix including neuro, plastics, ENT, breast, general, GYN, urology, orthopedics, vascular, and endoscopy
• Employment Type: Travel nursing

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of recent PACU, pre-op, recovery room, or outpatient surgery nursing experience
• Experience providing perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Ability to participate in rotating call coverage, including weeknight, weekend, and holiday call
• Completion of required onboarding, background, health, and competency requirements
• Strong communication, teamwork, patient assessment, and patient education skills

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality pre-operative and post-anesthesia care to surgical patients
• Monitor patient status, assess recovery progress, and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Prepare patients for procedures and support safe handoff throughout the perioperative experience
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative team members
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety standards
• Support a variety of surgical specialties with professionalism, efficiency, and compassion
• Participate in call coverage as scheduled to help meet department needs
