PACU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible to practice in Montana
• At least 1 year of recent experience in PACU, perioperative, pre-operative, or procedural nursing
• Demonstrated proficiency recovering both adult and pediatric patients
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Ability to provide call and holiday coverage and adapt to changing patient-care needs

PACU Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care for surgical and procedural patients
• Safely recover adult and pediatric patients following anesthesia and sedation
• Monitor airway, vital signs, pain, level of consciousness, and post-procedure recovery status
• Care for patients undergoing orthopedic, podiatric, ENT, urology, gynecology, general, plastic, endoscopy, and ophthalmology procedures
• Provide pre- and post-procedure care for cardiac catheterization patients
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond promptly according to established protocols
• Collaborate with anesthesia, procedural, surgical, and nursing teams to support safe patient transitions
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and deliver thorough handoff communication
