    ASRC Federal AFSS is seeking a Travel Preparer to support a NASA Contract in Hampton, VA.

    Position Summary

    Embark on a rewarding career as a Project Support Specialist / Travel Support professional at NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC), where you will serve as a member of the Langley Central Travel Office (CTO) team. This role offers the unique opportunity to support NASA travelers by navigating complex Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) and ensuring mission-critical travel is executed with precision and care.     Essential Functions

    • Provide essential support to the Langley Central Travel Office (CTO) leadership, ensuring seamless team operations and coverage.

    • Utilize the Concur Government Edition (CGE) travel system to prepare and submit complex international and domestic Travel Authorizations (TAs), reservations, and vouchers.

    • Ensure all Travel Authorizations (TAs) comply with the Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) and NASA Federal Travel Regulations Supplement (NFTRS) prior to approval.

    • Deliver exceptional customer service through professional communication via email, phone, and MS Teams to resolve traveler inquiries.

    • Manage time-sensitive documentation and track travel requests through the travel management system to ensure timely approval and ticketing.

    • Document and communicate real-time progress on assignments utilizing the NASA-provided, Jira-based ticketing system.

    • Interpret and distribute critical information from publications, regulations, and directives to travelers and teammates.

    • Maintain rigorous electronic and paper filing systems in accordance with established office procedures.

    • Actively manage assignment queues to ensure all priorities and time-sensitive government travel needs are met.

    • Analyze and resolve inquiries by synthesizing information from varied sources, including reports, correspondence, and external offices.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Strong drive for customer service excellence with the adaptability to meet shifting mission needs and implement new processes.

    • Proactive and professional communication skills with the ability to respond quickly to Central Travel Office (CTO) leadership and traveler requests.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with a specific requirement for using Excel to solve and document mathematical travel scenarios.

    • Ability to independently interpret, communicate, and apply policy related to the Federal Travel Regulations (FTR).

    • Must complete a government background check and citizenship or permanent residency requirements for access to NASA assets.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Prior experience with the Concur Government Edition (CGE) travel system.

    • Familiarity with the NASA Federal Travel Regulations Supplement (NFTRS).

    • Previous experience in a government contracting environment or supporting NASA missions.

    • Proficiency in using Jira-based ticketing systems for task management.

    Education & Experience

    High school diploma and 2-4 years of experience, professional customer service experience in an office setting is highly desired.

    • Relevant experience in office administration, travel management, or professional customer service is required.

    Hours, Onsite Expectations & Travel

    This position is starting as benefits eligible, 32.5 hours per week. The individual selected for this role must report onsite to NASA Langley (Hampton, VA) 5 days per week, from 11am - 6pm. There are no travel requirements for this position.
