Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Hawaii, requiring a HI RN license and at least 1 year of acute care experience.

Details

  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a hospital setting, combining Step-Down ICU and telemetry beds in a 15-bed unit
  • Patient ratio is 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-Down ICU
  • Primary nursing care responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, telemetry strip reading, and fingerstick blood sugar checks
  • Equipment used includes Meditech (EMR), Pyxis medication dispensing, BiPAP, and continuous cardiac monitoring
  • Varied shift schedule, working 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating required to all acute units in-house, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER

Requirements

  • Active HI RN license required by start of assignment
  • Current BLS/BCLS required
  • Minimum 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year
  • Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred
  • ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications preferred

Additional Information

  • All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of assignment; plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend a Friday morning Employee Health appointment
  • Scrubs required
  • COVID-19 vaccination required
