Registered Nurse - IMCU Night Shift

Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position for a Registered Nurse in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) with a focus on critical care. The nurse will provide specialized care for patients experiencing conditions such as sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, type 2 diabetes mellitus, substance abuse, and encephalopathy. The ideal candidate will be skilled in managing heparin drips and working in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Schedule

This position requires a night shift schedule of 12-hour shifts, four days on and four days off.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and competent nursing care to patients in an IMCU setting.
• Monitor and manage patient conditions, administering medications including heparin drips as necessary.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop individual patient care plans.
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic health record.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and home care needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Active RN license in good standing.
